Asukwo Bassey Effiom

Asukwo Bassey Efiom is a Nigerrian multimeda artist basedin Abuja whose work explores the cultural and spiritual dimensions of contemporary African life. Though he currently works prmiarily with acrylics, his practice spans diverse media, reflecting his belief that creativity has no fixed form. 

Rooted in Afrocentric narratives, Effiom's art draws deeply from his society, personal experiences, and vivid imagination. His pieces are known for their empathetic richness and symbolic language, merging traditional motifs with modern expression to evoke connection, reflection, and transformation. 

Effiom holds a B.A. (Hons) in fine and Industrial Arts (Painting major) from the University of Uyo. His works have been featured in exhibitions such as High Art (USA), Echos (Nigeria), and Rediscovering Art: A Sustainable Development, organized by the Spanish Embassy in Nigeria (2022). He has also been profiled in Voyage Houston in Life, Lessons and Legacy, highlighting his evolving journey as an artist. 

Through his art, Effiom continues to explore the balance between culture, spirituality, and identity, creating visual stories that invite viewers to feel as much as they see.
